ENTRY REQUIREMENTS To enter the tournament the enclosed application with a check payable to "Spirit of America Classic" for $225.00 or $265.00 (includes golf cart) must be sent to the Invitational Chairman. Entries are limited to male golfers 16 years of age or older by July 2, 2009 with a current USGA Handicap. ALL ENTRIES must be completed on the enclosed official entry form (no verbal entries will be accepted), and returned to the Invitational Chairman with the entry fee. The deadline for receiving entries will be Wednesday, June 24, 2009. Accepted entrants will be notified and posted on Burningtree Country Club website at www.btcountryclub.com . Tee times for Thursday, July 2nd, will be published in the Wednesday, July 1st, Decatur Daily Newspaper and on the Burningtree Country Club website. TOURNAMENT FORMAT The tournament will be 72 holes of stroke play, with 54-hole cut to Low 50 and Ties. The Tournament Champion will be the player with the lowest 72-hole score. The Junior Champion will be the junior player (age 16-17) having the lowest 72-hole score. The Collegian Champions will be the two-man team with the lowest 54-hole team score. USGA rules will govern all play except where modified by the local rules. The tournament is points sanctioned by the Alabama Golf Association and the Titleist/Golfweek National Amateur Ranking for men. Collegian Team Division Teams of two will be competing for the Collegian Team Division Championship. Schools are allowed to enter more than one team and designate them as Team #1, #2, etc. Each Collegian may be a member of only one team. The team score will be taken by combining the total score of the two team members for the 54 holes played. CLUB USE Entrants and spouses or dates are guests of Burningtree Country Club and are welcome to use all facilities. Spouses or dates are included in the entry fee for parties and dinner at no additional charge. PRACTICE ROUNDS Practice rounds will be permitted Wednesday, July 1st.
