We're a Country Club with All the Amenities and none of the pretense. The Burningtree Country Club in Decatur, Alabama is a peaceful 180 acres with over 7,000 yards of a championship golf course.
Our golf facility was honored to host the Men's Alabama State Amateur Golf Tournament in 1994, the Women's Alabama State Senior Tournament in 2002 and the 2005 NGA Hooters Professional Golf Tournament. For over 40 years Burningtree has hosted the National Spirit of America Golf Classic. This is one of the top amateur stops in the country.
We believe that Burningtree Country Club represents a unique alternative in country clubs in this region. It starts with our incomparable golf course, but goes much further than that.
As soon as you walk in the clubhouse, you'll sense the friendly, relaxed atmosphere that we work hard to maintain at all times. You'll get white-glove treatment when appropriate, but we're proud of not taking ourselves too seriously. After all, a country club should be fun for the entire family. It's a pretty simple philosophy that we know you'll appreciate.
Burningtree Country Club has the finest facilities, a friendly, attentive staff of professionals and special events to suit every taste. There's a wonderful sense of camaraderie you simply won't find anywhere else. Your kids can enjoy the playground and play equipment conveniently located at the pool area. Our History

Our History is Rich, Our “Spirit” Is American.
There's a spirit here at Burningtree Country Club. The spirit of America. You really can't talk of the history of Burningtree Country Club without mention of the Spirit of America Amateur Golf Classic.
This is our long-running, fundraising golf tournament held annually in conjunction with Decatur's Spirit of America Festival, which itself is one of the largest, free Fourth of July festivals in the south. Spirit of America Amateur Golf Classic. Established in 1967, our third year of operation, the Spirit of America Golf Classic has been home to collegiate players and top amateur players from across the nation.

The 72-hole, stroke play event, with a 54-hole collegiate team division, is truly one of a kind. Nationally sanctioned for player points by Golfweek/Titleist and regionally sanctioned by the Alabama Golf Association as a "Major,” the tournament boasts many top graduates. like 1995 Champion-turned-PGA tour player Heath Slocum, and 1989 Junior Champion-turned-PGA tour player Stewart Cink.
We've also played host to the Men's Alabama State Amateur Golf Tournament (1994); the Women's Alabama State Senior Tournament (2002), and the 2005 NGA Hooters Professional Golf Tournament. (The NGA/Hooters Tour, which puts a great emphasis on strong community support, well-organized events and benefit local charities, has helped more professionals acquire their PGA, Senior PGA and Nationwide Tour cards than any other developmental tour.)
